NUTRITION

We have teamed up with Laura Holly Nutrition to offer bespoke nutritional therapy that will develop the lasting changes needed to create new habits to support health and well being. Laura is passionate in her belief that we need to look beyond the current diet trends. The dietary world has become toxic, creating body image concerns, fears of gaining weight & judgement. There are so many unrealistic beauty ideals everywhere we look, for some of us; creating worries in how we will be perceived.

The food we eat is of course very important, but it is just one element in what it means to be healthy. Our well being needs our attention the most. Laura believes we are all beautifully unique & that nothing works in isolation. There is no one size fits all approach when it comes to our health. The factors that positively or negatively influence your life may have a very different effect upon all of us.

Laura Holly

Laura is a registered Nutritional Therapist. (DipION, mBANT, CNHC) and a member of BANT (The British Association for Applied Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) and the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council). She studied and qualified at the prestigious Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION), having been on a huge journey of discovery which started in her teens.

Here’s Laura’s journey in her own words – “My story has a lot of links to suffering with “bad skin” and acne from my early teenage years. My career in the beauty industry meant I felt I was constantly on show. Having the very best products and skincare routines with years of training in all things skin and make up, unfortunately I was still unable to find anything that really seemed to help.”

“In my mid-twenties I was prescribed Roaccutane, something I had refused for a long time. This brought about a huge journey of discovery. I was curious about the internal impacts that can cause external manifestations. I knew that what I was eating and my lifestyle was playing a role and was eager to learn more. Eventually it led me along the path to fulfil one of my dreams and began studying to become a Nutritional Therapist.”

Laura’s perspective is that, health is recognised by the quality of your physical, mental and emotional energy and your spirit – not just the absence of disease. Her own health journey continues and she is passionate to learn more in this ever expanding field of information.

Our individuality should be recognised and then built upon in order to develop the lasting changes needed to create new habits to support health and well being. The latest evidence based scientific research lies at the core of Nutritional Therapy. Combining this with empowered, motivational support and small targeted adjustments can result in profound impacts upon the way we feel on the inside & look on the outside. Allowing us to support the body, restore balance and maintain health.

Laura looks to provide a deeper understanding of your drivers, addressing the underlying causes of disease, and working together in discovering a path to create sustainable, lasting changes – with personalised nutritional support & guidance. Using a client centered approach enables Laura to look at the whole person and not just their symptoms. This involves listening to their history, considering genetics, environmental interactions and lifestyle factors that may influence prosperity.

How Does It Work?

We recommend 2-3 sessions as a minimum. Consisting of an initial consultation with follow up appointments.

The initial consultation will last approximately 75 minutes. Laura will ask questions about your general health, presenting symptoms, dietary habits, lifestyle and family health history in detail to establish and highlight any drivers in core issues you are experiencing – a bit like starting to build a jigsaw puzzle.

We will work together to design a unique lifestyle & dietary plan aimed at addressing your health goals. Where appropriate nutritional supplements and optional tests (with your GP or privately) may be recommended. Recipes and support material will be provided where necessary.

The follow up appointments will have allowed time for you to implement the strategies designed in our first appointment, we will discuss your progress, what has and hasn’t worked for you, revise and reassess your personal action plan, adapting any areas necessary, building upon it to create further goals and offering practical support.

At every appointment you will be provided with a personalised report of the nutrition and lifestyle recommendations we create together. Consultations can take place in person, Skype or by phone, and everything is confidential.
